Taiwan

The Perspectives on the World Christian Movement® course arrived in Taiwan in 2014, hosted by 聯合差傳 (United Mission of Taiwan, "UMOT") and known locally as 宣教心視野. More than a course, it has become a spiritual movement that reshapes how Taiwanese Christians see the world.

In a decade of faithful work, Taiwan has hosted 80 classes and equipped more than 2,800 students across Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Hualien — the north, centre, south, and east of the island.

"The course reminded me that culture is not an enemy, but rather a context into which the gospel can enter and bring renewal. I have learned to view culture with an open mind—not being quick to judge, but instead slow to listen, discerning God's guidance while walking in step with the Holy Spirit. This is not merely about adapting to a local culture, but about allowing the gospel to be contextually communicated without compromising our core values. When the gospel enters a new culture, it is not a forced overhaul of that culture; rather, it allows the beautiful elements within the culture to be redeemed by God's truth, aligning it more closely with His heart."

Students and staff come from a wide range of church denominations, mission agencies, and gospel ministries. On this shared platform, denominational lines are set aside for one kingdom vision: that all nations may hear the gospel. Together they explore God's mission through the four perspectives the course is built on — Biblical, Historical, Cultural, and Strategic.

Perspectives Taiwan is also known for its faculty: leaders from mission agencies, seminary teachers, mission historians, professional writers, and frontline cross-cultural missionaries who teach not just from theory but from authentic life testimony and field experience.
