When the global pandemic disrupted plans for in-person classes in 2020, Perspectivas Costa Rica worked together with Ibero-American programs to develop the first Spanish-language virtual class. That class drew students from across Central and South America—and even as far away as Japan.

These virtual classes helped build an even greater hunger for Perspectivas. Today, Costa Rica serves as an Anchor Country in the region, helping initiate, coach, and resource new national Perspectivas programs throughout Central America and the Caribbean.

Perspectivas Costa Rica continues to unite denominations, mission agencies, and parachurch organizations around a shared passion for God’s global mission. Over the years, God has grown this movement to help mobilize the Costa Rican church to extend His glory among all peoples.

Perspectivas Costa Rica began in 2011, before the curriculum had been translated into Spanish. During its first two years, the course was offered in English until the Spanish edition, Perspectivas del Movimiento Cristiano Mundial, was released in 2013. The arrival of the Spanish edition became a catalyst for the multiplication of Perspectivas throughout Costa Rica.

As the Costa Rican program matured, opportunities opened for its leadership team to serve other nations. The team supported Peru and Bolivia in the early stages of launching their national programs, and in 2019 Perspectivas Costa Rica was designated as the Mentor Country for emerging programs in Central America and the Caribbean. In 2020, Costa Rica mentored Guatemala and Panama as they conducted their first classes, and in 2021 the team participated in hosting the introductory class in the Dominican Republic.
