UGANDA

Pastors Julius Twongyeirwe and Dennis Kilama attended the Global Mobilization Consultation held in Kenya in 2015. There they heard about how the Perspectives course was igniting a missionary sending movement in Korea and Nigeria. They decided that Uganda needed this program to help awaken the church to God’s global mission.

In 2017, Pastor Julius gathered a group of 50 students in his home where he conducted the class over the next fifteen weeks. The Perspectives Global Service Office and Kenyan Perspectives leadership came alongside to train future instructors and coordinators. A second course was held in 2018. Pastors in attendance began to promote the class to their congregations, allowing the program to multiply into many denominations and other areas.

Within the first three years of Perspectives in Uganda, 230 students graduated from ten courses.

“God is really interested in how I spend the entire week, not just the two hours on Sunday during the worship service. Now I perceive and engage in my workplace as my mission field.”

– Brian Muhame, Perspectives Student 2018

“I have been in Christian ministry for many years, and this course brings together all I have thought about and done and wondered about, in a more coherent and understandable way. I should be more effective from now on.”

– John Kasirye, Perspectives Student 2022
