RWANDA

The inaugural Perspectives Rwanda course was launched in 2015 with thirty-two church and mission leaders. The same year, the first instructor training was conducted. A start-up team was formed, led by pastor Rukundo Rogers. A second Perspectives Intensive course was held in 2016 for student leaders in churches and university. These events laid a foundation for a future national Perspectives program. Classes continued to be held annually in the capital city of Kigali until the 2020 global pandemic. The Rwandan program pivoted to virtual classes, enabling a multiplication of annual courses, as well as a geographic spread of students. A Perspectives national team was trained and formalized in 2022 with Pacifique Bisangwa assuming leadership of the national program. One exciting result of Perspectives in Rwanda is the formation of the first indigenous mission sending organization.

I am burdened by the fact that Rwanda is among the most evangelized places in this world, but we have the most nominal Christians. Lord, help us to be the light and the salt for our communities and for the world at large. Thank you for this course that reminds us of our purpose on this earth, to know You and make You known."

"I was reminded and became more aware that I am on mission on this planet, that I have a role to play in the Kingdom of God. I am so thankful for the gift of missionaries who obeyed that voice of God to take the gospel to the ends of their world, risking their lives and some even ending up with death. Who am I to remain in my comfort zone when the world needs me? After finishing the Perspectives course I enlarged my areas of ministry.
