Perspectives in Egypt started to become popular through the efforts of Professor Dr. Swelum Sidhom in the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Cairo in 2003. Dr. Sidhom taught it in class in the Missions department and interest began to grow. That summer, a conference was held in Alexandria to further promote the idea of starting. Through the years, a few Egyptian leaders attended Perspectives courses in different countries and in June 2009, one Egyptian leader attended a Perspectives Coordinators Workshop in Dubai. A pilot Perspectives course was held that following summer. In October 2009, some Perspectives promotional meetings were held under the sponsorship of the Evangelical Theological Seminary with many church and mission organization leaders, as well as seminary students. Plans were made to hold a Perspectives Executive Orientation in Egypt in March 2010. In spite of the revolution in January 2010, plans moved forward and the PEO was successful. Both the Reader and Study Guide have been translated into Arabic under the supervision of The Evangelical Seminary of Cairo.
