INDONESIA
Most Perspectives Indonesia alumni are involved in ministry to the numerous unreached people groups within the region. Others serve as mission educators and mobilizers within churches and Christian schools. The Indonesian Church has long history of prayer for and mission to unreached peoples. The Perspectives course is a strategic tool serving the Church’s mission.
In 2006, a local mission mobilizer began pursuing a vision to provide Indonesians with the Perspectives course in the Bahasa Indonesian language. The Kairos course was effectively sowing mission vision into the large Indonesian church; the Perspectives course would contribute depth to the vision. The first Perspectives course was held in 2013 in English with thirty strategic leaders. In 2015 an Intensive course was conducted for about 100 students utilizing a beta version of the Bahasa Indonesian translation.
Producing a finalized translation of the curriculum took a few more years. When Perspectives shifted to a virtual class during the pandemic in 2021, it enrolled 241 students, including many pastors, educators, students, and professionals.
