Effort to establish a Brazilian Perspectives program began in 2006 with the formation of a Brazilian leadership team and commencement of the translation of the Perspectives course into Portuguese. Perspectivas Brasil was officially launched at the fifth national Congress of Brazilian Missions in 2008. The Portuguese curriculum was released the following year.

After a gradual ramp-up of establishing classes, growth really took off in 2014 when national directors Kevin Boot and Israel Saraiva begin focusing on introducing pastors to the course. The number of courses and students multiplied, with pastors averaging around 15% of registrants. Pastors witnessed first-hand the quality and content of the course stimulating a surge of interest in their cities.

"As I systematically invest in the area of education and training, I can assure you that Perspectives Brazil is currently the greatest mobilization and education tool for missions and global evangelism. I recommend that every disciple of Christ experiences the intensity of Perspectives... your world view confronted with the imperative of the Great Commission will expand exponentially."

Marcos Vaz - Student Perspectives Brazil 2021

Perspectives leadership invests heavily in recruiting, training, and discipling local and regional leadership. The concept that our God is a mobilizing God is sown deeply into the Brazilian Perspectives movement. God is not only on mission to reach all peoples, but to also mobilize His people. Coordinators, therefore, are trained to be mission mobilizers in their cities.

With over 800 volunteers and an alumni base exceeding 20,000, Perspectivas is the largest mission mobilization movement in Brazil. According to research by the Association of Brazilian Transcultural Missions (AMTB), Perspectivas Brasil contributed to the doubling of missionary recruits from 2010 to 2020. The Portuguese version of the Perspectives text is used in many seminaries and is a key reference for missiology in Brazil.
